The Stay At Home Mom That Could

Where do I begin? Well I guess I’ll start by telling a little bit about my background. I graduated with a degree in child adolescent development. In my last semester of school, i was also pregnant with my second daughter. So naturally it was in my families best interest for me to become a full time stay at home mom. I was only planning on being stay at home mom for a year to two years at the most, but boy was I wrong. I ended up staying at home for for 4 years. In those 4 years, i was very stressed, overwhelmed, and emotional; more then I’ve ever been in my entire life. Anyone who is reading this can totally relate if you have ever been a stay at home parent.

Soooooo….How did get from being an overworked stay home mom to starting my own online business. Well it started with me getting tired of not doing something for myself because everything that I did was for my family. So in those 4 years I picked up some hobbies and one of those hobbies was candle making. There is something about making candles that is very relaxing, but there is something about lighting that candle that is completely exhilarating. So you can imagine as a stay at home mom who is overworked and overwhelmed how a candle can be very beneficial to me or anyone whose in my same position.

So I got to thinking, “Why not turn this passion into a business?” Well that’s exactly what I did. Although it is not easy starting your own business. You have to figure out cost, potential profit, which platform you want to use, etc. And here I am as a stay at home mom whose only income is from my husband and it’s really hard to start a business on limited income. So I then decided that if I really want my business to succeed that I needed to get a par-time weekend job to earn a little extra money to help out around the house and to invest in my business. So that’s what I did and now I am the proud owner of

Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t just happen over night. There was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears just to get my business going and there is still a lot of work that needs to be done, heck I’m just starting out. However, I decided that I wanted to start a blog that would point towards my business, but also to motivate other stay home parents that if you put your mind to it, anything is possible. What I hope to bring to my blog site is a lot of do it yourself candle making/crafty things that you can do within your own home that is cost effective.

I hope that you enjoy reading my blogs as much as I enjoy writing them.
